A river runs
To accommodate their need for wheelchair access and increase space, this North Shore family embarked on a custom design with an architect and engaged Kingdom Builders to provide the custom build. We installed an elevator and bridge to provide barrier-free access and built an additional wing to ensure both privacy and space for the second generation. We built a great room in the center of the house with 20-foot ceilings, a large fireplace and windows with expansive views of the creek to serve as the gathering space for all inhabitants. The highlight of their property, the creek, triggered strict building regulations including salmon protection requirements and flood protection measures. We worked closely with the Department of Fisheries & Oceans, the District of North Vancouver, arborists and hydraulic specialists throughout the process and exceeded all requirements.
